[Tutorial] How to transfer credit / airtime from one MTN line to another

In order to transfer airtime from one MTN line to another MTN line, you'll need a secret PIN. This PIN should be kept private to avoid unauthorized transfers.

How to change your transfer PIN from the default 0000

For first-time use, you will need to activate / change your transfer PIN from the default. The default PIN is 0000. You can change your PIN via USSD or SMS.

How to activate your PIN via SMS

* Send the following via SMS to 777 to activate your new pin 0000 yournewpin yournewpin . E.g

Code:
0000 1234 1234

* 0000 represents your default PIN
* 1234 represents your new PIN,
* The repeated 1234 is a confirmation of your new PIN

How to activate your PIN via USSD

To activate your transfer PIN via USSD, dial *601*0000*newpin*newpin# then press the send button. E.g

Code:
*601*0000*1234*1234#

If entered correctly, you will receive a message that your pin has been changed successfully.

How to change your transfer PIN

To change your transfer PIN, simply use the method above. Just replace 0000 with your Old PIN

How To Transfer Airtime / Credit On MTN

You can transfer airtime from MTN to MTN via USSD or SMS.

How to transfer airtime via SMS

Send Transfer recipientsnumber amount secretpin to 777 . E.g

Code:
Transfer 08132198679 100 5646

Then send to 777

If entered correctly, you will receive a message telling you to confirm your transfer by sending Yes to 777. If you wish to cancel the transaction, send CANCEL to 777.

How To transfer credit via USSD

To transfer airtime via USSD, dial *600*recipient’sphonenumber*amount*PIN# .E.g

Code:
*600*08132198679*100*5646#

If entered correctly,you will receive a text message confirming a successful transfer.
