so earlier today I decided to root my phone and try a new ROM, I followed all the steps in the Lexer H6 post until eventually when my phone finished installing I noticed there is no network. I started searching around and discovered its a common problem but for some reason I cant fix it!!? (so frustrating) Problem is, when I use the MTK Droid Root Tool I get this error:-
pttycmd1 device NOT found
and there is no thread anywhere addressing this specific problem. Now I need a backup to restore everything back to the way it was.. The phone is booting up and everything just that there is no network (runnning Lexer H6 ROM) In desperate need of an MTK ROM, seems to be the ultimate solution...

Finally managed to restore everything on my Tecno H6.. Here is my breakdown:-

1. I got the link for the original MTK backup from you guys (thank you)
https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-311.html

2. I used the Smart Phone Flash Tool to restore the MTK to my Tecno using this guide
https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159...0Qfal.dpuf

3. I ran into a problem called boot loop where my phone could start up and first show the Smartlife logo then the Tecno animated logo from which it would start over again.. endlessly

4. Searched all over the net but found no real solution until I remembered a recovery Image file that I downloaded (CWM) that could help me wipe some Cache and User Data that some users claimed could eliminate the bootloop problem. But how to flash it!?
I figured I could try replacing the original recovery.img file from the MTK backup folder with the downloaded and working CWM recovery.img file so I renamed it and placed it in the files Smart Phone Flash was using (folder called Files to FlashTool)

5. I unchecked all other boxes Preloader, MBR, EBR, UBOOT ert.. (see attachment) apart from RECOVERY

6. I clicked Download, plugged in my phone and the file was copied, booted my phone into recovery with volume UP and Power and it worked! I was in CWM boot.

7. I selected wipe data then wipe cache then advanced > wipe Dalvik cache

NB: It wasn't running smoothly, formatting took longer than normal but completed and also showed E: couldn't mount but still worked.

8. Crossed my fingeres and rebooted phone, it took loooooong but it started up! (Happy dance) I setup language, account etc but still persisted with the IMEI problem

9. I tried once again the guide about IMEI replacement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAK1DL_L_eg
and this time everything worked out without a single problem. Before all this, when I followed the guide I was having a problem as stated above with MTK Droid Tool "pttycmd1 device NOT found"

10. Rebooted my phone and all is well. It wasn't easy going through all this Undecided Hope this will shorten someone elses' frustration
