Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy S6 G920F. Cannot boot into download mode to use Odin. When I press the Volume down, power and home buttons together it takes me to Chinese writing which I'm fairly certain is test mode. Volume up and power lets me select recovery mode, fastboot or normal startup. Pls assist in getting phone into download mode.

are you sure it's not a clone samsung?

It seems to be that it is indeed a clone Samsung. In fastboot mode, it reads as mt6572v1_phone. So how would I go about flashing this phone?

The first thing you want to do is backup your current firmware before you even think of flashing.
What's wrong with the phone and how did it start?

It has Privacy Protection Password on. The sim that was I the phone got damaged and thrown away. I did not set the password, so I don't know it. I've tried all the default passwords and a few thousand different number combinations. I've done the data/factory reset and wiped cache. I was advised that the only other alternative would be to flash the phone. Is there any other method or procedure I could use/do to bypass or deactivate the Privacy Protection Password prompt?

That shouldn't be difficult to bypass.
First, backup your firmware using Miracle box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html or Wwr @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html
Once done, bypass PPP using Miracle Box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13323.html
