Hi,

I have got clone of S9 and thats my first clone ever Smile
I like it actually
I need some help rooting this phone, and I don't know how to start
Recovery isn't installed
It uses 5.1 android it uses most probably mtk processor?
It has volume up volume down power off and Bixby button
It doesn't have download mode so no go I guess using odin
I tried to use some tools trying to find out more info about this phone but no tool recognises it.
Windows does recognise this phone as s9 and I can access media

How can I find more info about this phone and how do I root it?

Thanks in advance

Wanted to post pics of my phone but not allowed for now Smile

start by getting more info e.g chipset type and android version using the app mentioned at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13054.html
picture of the phone won't help in rooting it but you can upload the picture to any cloud storage e.g google drive then attach the link here [remove the https:// part of the link before posting]

Still no go Smile

I tried to use mtk droid tool but it didn't recognise my phone.
Installed vcom drivers, disabled signature ver in windows and tried mtk droid tool but didn't see my phone
Then I tried to use miraclebox+loader and no go means

In device manager phone is recognised as S9

When I press bixby button volume up and power I can boot into some kind of mode where I can choose
Recovery mode which isn't installed
Fastboot mode
Normal mode

When in Fastboot mode Windows recognises phone as android device tried to use mtkdroid tool while in Fastboot mode but it doesn't see my phone either.

Don't know what else I can do? Smile

Any advice?

At this point, the primary objective is to find out the real chipset before considering any tool / drivers.
Can you get access to any chinese box / dongle hardware?
BTW, what does CPU-Z apk have to say about the device's info

Output from cpu-z

h t tps://ibb.co/hBKAY8

h t tps://ibb.co/mAkCfo

Looks like snapdragon 835 the thing is that I don't believe it as this phone boot time is twice as long as my s7 edge, plus even when I open apps is slow, it's way less responsive comparing to s7 edge.

What do we do now? Smile

A bit scared of opening it cuz of most probably if this phone is build the way s7 is then to get to Chipset I will need to dismantle whole phone.

OK I did open that phone Smile it wasn't anything like s7 edge its done really cheaply and very easy to open and dismantle it took me about 20 min to dismantle it. The funny thing is that there is very little you can find inside couldn't access Chipset as it's covered by soldered aluminium cover and didn't want to damage it. Did a few pictures Smile

To me this what I saw inside it doesn't look like there's 60gb flash drive 835 snapdragon and 4gm ram but I maybe wrong Smile

looks like CPU-z was hoodwinked as well, and the former link i sent was a mistake
i wanted you to try dumping the firmware in scatter file as though the phone is an MTK device, if truly it is then it should be successful or the PC should at least indicate during driver installation that it is MTK. dump using the guide at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html
lets know the outcome
