(04-07-2018, 01:32 AM)Benzalf Ok so I backup everything in the WWR MTK tool but after the backup it says 'Platform not defined'!  The components of the full ROM are all there except the scatter file. I'm sure it because my chipset isn't already on the list in the tool.
How do I go about this, please?

should be able to manually modify a scatter file using the values in "search for partitions" tab in wwr tool
download and modify the CA7 scatter file at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23177.html

you can drop pgpt file from your dump and screenshot of "search for partitions" if you are unsure how to make the modifications

Ok...I'll try that and tell the results.

Ok.. from my observations, all the partitions' start address and length from the CA7 scatter file on this site tally with the results from 'Search of partitions' except the User data, flash info and sgpt of my backup.
So that mean this scatter file is all good, right, because the flash info and sgpt is not included automatically when 'build the firmware' is clicked?

Ok I tested the scatter file with my backup. (preloader + recovery.img) and it flashed fine.
I proceeded to port my own recovery with the TWRP Porter 1.2 and this time, there was a 'DM_Verity found'. It wasn't the case before when I used the recovery that I downloaded.
So I have to patch my boot.img with magisk again?! It made my phone bootloop the last time!

The patched_boot.img, based on my own backup, results in insufficient buffer again.
(I used the two DA files for the Tecno CA7.)
What a stubborn phone!

Edit: I test-flashed my stock boot.img and it flashed successfully. So the insufficient buffer error occurs only when it's patched or the recovery is ported.

That means your CA7 might need a different DA.
Upload your stock boot.img and recovery.img (from most recent backup); I want to take a quick look
