Hi everyone,

I have tried since few days to flash a custom recovery on my phone.
The problem is everytime i get "Red flag, Your device has failed verification.."

So i unpacked and checked my boot.img and didnt find any code with:
Code:

wait,verify

or anything. I do find in ramdisk the file "Verity_key" and delete it, repack flash but same problem. I really which to find where is this code to change it and flash a modified boot.img so i can flash a custom recovery.

My device is a mt6737m, 7.0 nougat bootloader lock.
I tried all the tool to port twrp without success and also port by myself. I also try to root with MTKdroid tool but i get error message:

Code:

ERROR  :  --- TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found. Set default Page/Spare=2048/64 !!!
--- Unknown ROM structure, backup NOT possible!
ATTENTION!  File /system/recovery-from-boot.p which restore factory recovery in case of phone switching on in a normal mode Is Found!

I installed Assayyed Kitchen and my kernel has "DM_verity" disabled which is weird.

i want to: Unpack the boot image; edit the kernel and remove ",verify", remove verity_key and repack the boot image. But i can't find the code to disabled the verification..

how did you get this custom recovery you're trying to flash?
try this,
flash stock rom onto your device and allow to boot to homescreen then
patch boot and root using magisk at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html
lets know if you're still able to boot into homescreen

Well i used Hovatek auto porter twrp and philZ and i also ported twrp by myself.

I just tryied Magisk Manager and i flashed the patched boot.img and... bootloop with same message.

Is it possible the DM_verity code is somewhere else? not in boot.img? Or diffrent file in boot.img?
I think Advan made things complicated to root so maybe it's a bit different than average phone.

Cheers bro

The problem is clearly not from the custom recoveries you've flashed but from your device having DM_Verity.
From what you've described, I suspect yours is an encrypted boot. Even a Magisk patch (at this point) would still fail....expecting an update to find a way around that.
Upload the boot.img so I take a look to confirm my suspicion
