TWRP for Cubot Nova
TWRP for Cubot Nova
(03-09-2018, 01:22 PM)idibi I have tried the Hovatek Mediatek Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.2
It was creating a recovery file bit this does`nt work after flashing.
It hangs with the cubot-logo and the rebooting into normal mode.
Have anyone suggestions or a working recovery?
Thank you for any help
(03-09-2018, 02:43 PM)innagee What's your phone android version?
did you see DM_verity found at the end of porting?
(04-09-2018, 07:09 AM)idibi The Cubot Nova is on Oreo 8.1 and a Mediatek 6739.
I`ve used this option.
Yes, at the end of scripting there is a message "DM_Verity found You`ll need to patch boot.img"
What i have to do with the boot.img?
I do not want to root the device using Magisk.
Is there any other way to fix the boot.img?
Can I only delete the verity_key file in the boot.img?
Thank you for your help!

(04-09-2018, 03:45 PM)X3non your boot image might have encrypted dm-verity, upload your stock boot.img and post the download link here. lets have a look at it
(05-09-2018, 07:19 AM)idibi Here it is and a screenshot of the systeminfo too.

Attachment over this forum doesn`t work ;-(
Thank you for your help!
I myself tried to hex edit the boot.img and delete the text ",verify" at each instance it is found to not verify the partitions.
But the result was the same, normal booting, but no TWRP ;-(

(05-09-2018, 11:55 AM)idibi Yes i know this will work, but described above i`ll NOT ROOT my device.
So any other way is possible?
(05-09-2018, 03:54 PM)X3nonIf i`ll do it so and reflash the stock boot.img the TWRP will not work with it because of dm_verity. So that is not the solution.(05-09-2018, 11:55 AM)idibi Yes i know this will work, but described above i`ll NOT ROOT my device.

do @Hovatek suggested then confirm if you get a working twrp, you can always flash back your stock boot.img and uninstall magisk manager app to unroot your device

I`m searching for a way to only disable the dm_verity in the boot.img by editing anything.
(by the way: magisk ends the output at the end with a non expected fault but gives an output of a patched boot.img that does`nt work. OK, but this is a question for the magisk-team)
