(20-10-2018, 05:29 PM)charveey As soon as I relocked it the status changed back to certified. But still can't install the update. It download fine but refuse to install no matter the state of the bootloader
(20-10-2018, 08:15 PM)freshtytNothing special, just says 'installation problem' see attachement(20-10-2018, 05:29 PM)charveey As soon as I relocked it the status changed back to certified. what error do you get when you try to install the update?
have you tried extracting the update.zip file?

I can't get the update.zip bcz I'm not rooted and I tried capturing the URL with no success
(19-10-2018, 09:20 PM)charveey I can't install system update and play store says that my phone isn't Play Protect certified. I want to know if it is related to the current state of my bootloader which is unlocked
Edit: I relocked it but the same issue persist

I'm guessing you
1. Flashed the whole X604-H633H-O-180816V228 rom and not just boot.img using the DA
2. Had used Playstore or installed a system update (prior to flashing that wrong boot.img) without getting the Play Protect error
(22-10-2018, 12:43 PM)charveey Just after flashing the whole ROM I restored an adb backup (apps didn't get installed but my internal storage content was restored). Can this be related to the update issue?
(22-10-2018, 01:07 PM)X3nonOn Oreo files on the / partition don't show at all. And the update.zip on my device is located at /data/data/ota-download/update.zip (it looks like something like this). I cant even list files in those folders. So I'll try flashing without restoring(22-10-2018, 12:43 PM)charveey Just after flashing the whole ROM I restored an adb backup (apps didn't get installed but my internal storage content was restored). flash the entire rom then try performing the OTA update first before you begin restoring - then we'll know
btw you could check internal storage or sdcard for the update.zip, you don't need root for this only a file manager is needed

Yeah of course. After relocking the bootloader it was wiped. But right after resetting I restored my adb backup
unlocking or relocking bootloader shouldn't affect play protect certification, you should contact your device manufacturer for that
and play protect certification whether certified or not shouldnt stop your device from receiving OTA updates. check for updates at settings > about phone > system updates
