In xda there is a dedicated forum for your device, where you can get all the stuff .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xa1-ultra.
Alternatively for rooting

The first option talks about hard bricked after all attempts failed because of device update which is similar to my device state. (my upgraded to android 8.0.0)
The alternative option talks about boot.img. How can I get the boot img from my unrooted device?

The easiest way to get your boot.img is in your device firmware.you can check your phone buildno and download correct firmware.
