(08-03-2019, 01:09 PM)LittleHan No. Mine is v053. But am not able to find the recovery image anywhere on Google. I thought of using flashfire(which requires root) to extract it but my phone refuses to be rooted when I use rooting apps. The only way I can think of now is to root it with twrp but... You already know the story. Anyone knows what I can do?

at least this tell why its not working, you're not using the recovery for your build
if you're trying to root, you can do that using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html
you'll need to first backup firmware from your phone, use the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html OR https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html
if you still need twrp after root, you can use the stock recovery from your firmware backup to port

Okay. But rooting is not my actual objective.  What I want is to flash the aosp 9.0 rom based on project trebble. I checked Google and xda to know if my phone could support it and yes it can provided I have unlocked the bootloader (which I have already done). But the reason I need twrp is to take a backup of my room just in case I run into a bootloop or brick the phone after flashing the rom and also making the flashing process easier. Rooting crossed my mind while searching for a way to get my phone' stock recovery image.
Anyway thanks a lot. I'll check out the link you provided for backing up my firmware and try extracting the recovery image if possible. Thanks a lot.

Am also having issues on recovery...I don't get some to download... I still need the twrp recovery for other purpose
I can help you root itel a32f without twrp

Extract the boot Img. Of  the stock rom file to phone storage

Download magisk manager

Launch and select install

Select from boot.img/patch

You will be directed to phone storage

Select the  boot.Img. File

Wait till the patch finish

Copy the patched image from phone downloads to PC

Download sp flash tool and install it's vcom drivers

Load scatter file into sp flash tool

Load the patched boot.img
Tick the boot img. Only

Turn off device

Click download on sp flash tool

Connect phone...

Done

(06-03-2019, 07:52 PM)LittleHan okay. i was able to port the phone's recovery but when i rebooted into recovery, for some reason, i was still presented with the phone's stock recovery. here is a screenshot of what i got while flashing it.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img -- flash recovery
fastboot reboot -- reboot to homescreen
adb reboot reovery -- when the phone is in homescreen, reboot to recovery mode

ensure to try recovery.img from twrp porting tool v1.4 & then philz porting tool; in both tools try recovery.img from 8.0, 8.1 and 8.1G regardless the android version on your device

BTW where did you get the stock recovery.img you're using to port?
The porting tool was successful for me.. I was able to boot into twrp on Android Oreo go itel A32f ...But it can't mount the internal storage...help please
