Mine magisk root is not giving root permission to other apps, i don't receive any prompt but i can install modules

open your magisk app and click on option menu at your top left corner and select super user then you can see all your apps that require root permission you can switch the permission to your apps

Which method did you use to root with magisk, Flashing patched boot.img or flashing magisk.zip via custom recovery?

i take it when you open magisk manager, you have both magisk and magisk manager with green tick but there's dont get the usual prompts to grant root access?
if yes, then see https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-26854.html

if its too much hassle, you should consider reverting back to supersu pending when magisk receives a new update which may or may not fix this issue
BTW your phone is running android 5?

How did it get bricked?
Try disconnecting/reconnecting the phone's battery and plug to charge for few hours.
