Good morning

I have an Oukitel k7 I've been trying to root from its first month of purchase.
It runs an android oreo 8.1
I have successfully unlocked bootloader via adb tool
I have installed different versions of twrp that vanishes after reboot.

I have tried to flash su and magisk. All failed. I really need to root this device. I have a backup firmware already.

Followed many processes online but always failed when I wanna flash superuser or magisk.

Please help me out.

Try factory resetting the phone and see if it will work.

No, flashing stock boot.img is like unrooting the phone, you can try that and see if the phone will turn to it's normal state.
Also, have you tried factory resetting as I've suggested previously?

Well, I did it. Here's the fix.

The boot.img I patched is from the stock rom and the boot.img on the phone was from ota update.
So both has a lil difference in size.
Been that the phone was already rooted. I just found a way to locate any folder containing system update. The folder usually has .fota at the end.
It's usually found at.. data/data. Using rom toolbox file manager

So I copied the entire update.zip to my pc, extracted it and located boot.img.

Just to get a clean installation I did a full flash using sp flash tool.
Then got the zip I backed up on my pc and copied it to an sd card. Inserted it to my phone and boot into recovery mode. Normal stock recovery is what I used not twrp, located the update.zip then installed. Took 8 to 10mins. Then I boot my phone to check if fota was successfully installed. Yes it was.

So I got magisk and patched the boot.img I got from the update.zip.
Did the normal procedure of unlocking bootloader and followed the procedure to flash patched_boot.img.

Booted, now my phone rooted and is silky smooth. All things work. WiFi, Bluetooth, fm radio. So I believe this is a fix for the boot.img error alot of people have been experiencing.

Now I need a good imei writing technique for prep. My current imei isn't for my phone.

You can use Maui Meta or sp flash tool method @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-116.html to write IMEI.
