Its just an ota.zip flashable in recovery. You have to find its full firmware with correct build no.
I have found an rom you can check.

to begin with, this isn't gionee s10 lite firmware. if you check the list @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-389.html like i mentioned previously, you'll find firmware for S10 lite

Thanks for the corrections Sirs, I now have the correct firmware which I downloaded from the link provided, used the Firehorse file to make a backup of my phone now.
What's the next step?
  • I have the same phone which I got from a friend.

check the build id of your phone using method 4 or 7 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16005.html
in the meantime, you can backup firmware from your friend's phone and check the build, if it matches then flash the firmware onto your phone

In the backup I made, there was no patch file so I went on with the flashing.
In the process I go the error 'system ' file missing, I repeated it and got a second error 'failed to open port'.

I've tried restarting both the app and my phone but still got the errors as above. Thanks

check the files within your backup and ensure "system" is included then disconnect, power off then boot to edl mode and retry flashing
