I'm trying to recover data from the userdata partition of android 8. I have been able to readback the rom using wwr and SP flash tool but could not split the rom into partitions because WWR doesn't recognise my hardware SoC which is MT6739. With Android 7, I can split the rom but cant get the data because the userdata partition is encrypted. I have the password but don't know how to decrypt the userdata. Any pointer to these two will be appreciated. Thanks

check requirements @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html ; did you add template.ini before using wwr tool?

there's no known method of decrypting userdata.img unless you flash the userdata.img along with metadata gotten from the same device as the userdata (metadata is a different partition usually holding the encryption keys) back to the same or similar device then when requested for, unlock the device to get access
