If you're eagerly reading this then chances are that you've somehow messed up your Lenovo K5 Play. The most nagging issue I've bumped into is the phone being unable to detect network signal despite having a valid Baseband and IMEI. spoiler alert: You simply need to restore the global modem.img to fix signal detection problems.
Steps to unbrick a Lenovo K5 Play
First, download the QPST stock rom @ [ Login / Register to download free] should you need it.
Fixing Network detection problem
- Unlock your Lenovo K5 Play bootloader
- Download TWRP for Lenovo K5 Play @ [ Login / Register to download free]
- Flash TWRP to the phone and boot into TWRP mode to confirm. Reboot to system (home screen) once confirmed
- Download the Lenovo K5 Play (Global) TWRP backup of EFS & Modem @ [ Login / Register to download free]
- Extract the zip file. It'll contain a BACKUPS folder
- Copy the BACKUPS folder into the TWRP folder on your phone storage
- Boot into TWRP recovery mode
- If you've run into unknown Baseband then restore the EFS backup (the 2019-06-21--20-52-08_OPR1170623032_dev-keys folder)
- To fix signal problem, restore the modem backup (the 2019-06-21--20-52-19_OPR1170623032_dev-keys folder)
