take out / reinsert the battery, charge the device a few minutes say 5 mins then reboot to edl mode (9008) and retry flashing using a different tool e.g Miflash @ http://bigota.d.miui.com/tools/MiPhone20141107.exe

Yes, it is only booting into edl mode.
i dont know bro....i switched it off and went to sleep and very next day when i woke up and tried to switch it on, it never switched on; only connecting to pc in edl mode.
my device was rooted and running on lineage os and working fine.

Ok, retry flashing the firmware you already have but first copy the firmware folder directly to C drive
the path to the firmware should look like this- C:\wt88047_global_images_v6...
post feedback

before flashing open device manager on the PC and monitor what the device gets connected as in device manager

retry flashing developer firmware using qfil tool
developer firmware 7.3.23 @ http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.3.23/wt88047_...b55f44.tgz
connect those points on the board before attempting to flashing

Please confirm this by launching Device Manager on your PC then connecting the phone. Lets see a screenshot of device manager after connecting the phone.
