Thanks a lot I have been able to bring the phone up. I got an update notice again but this time is for a version I had done before, I clicked upgrade but it keeps saying I have a low memory available. I have uninstalled a lot of apps and still have d same error message. Any way forward?

Also, is there a custom android 5.0 rom that can be flashed on the tecno phantom z so that I can still upgrade but avoid their latest buggy update.

you might want to stay away from any more updates because they're buggy. for the space issue, read http://forum.hovatek.com/thread-718.html
