retry flashing patched boot a few more times, you can also try other research tool versions @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-15611.html

Haven't been able to root my itel A33 handset. So heart breaking ..   please any help on how to unlock bootloader cos it's the only problem. Thanks

kindly see the pics below. can't get the oem to unlock. did all correct.... used adb fastboot and yet .... why? cos oem isn't unlocked hence it can't flash. I rebooted phone to safe mode then switched developer option ON, allow bootloader to be unlocked and usb debugging ON plugged phone to pc did adb devices etc.... what do I do? mind you, I've tried it too by using normal phone without switching phone to safe mode.

before you start running adb commands run adb version, so one can tell if you're using latest version or not
zip and upload your boot.img then drop the link here

this rules out unlocking bootloader, only itel the OEM can help you with the specific command. its possible that you might need some sort of bootloader unlock file
try this, patch stock recovery using magisk then flash the newly patched recovery to recovery partition using research download tool
lets know the outcome
