(12-01-2020, 03:47 PM)vchowe@outlook.com Yes, Magisk is installed. I patched the boot.img on the device before I attempted to root.

if magisk manager indicates that magisk is installed but you're still unable to get root permission then it must mean magisk manager isn't prompting for root access when apps require it

attach a full screenshot of your magisk manager dashboard
you can upload your screenshot to imgur.com then post the link here

If it's the only issue as @x3non stated then try downgrading a version of manager then check for superuser prompt, if solved then don't install manager update untill magisk and manager both updates are arrived.  It mostly happens to canary build users.

this is magisk settings not the dashboard (ie first screen you see when you launch magisk manager)
i'll assume that on the first screen, both magisk and magisk manager are both shown as installed but no super user prompts

you're to try different magisk manager versions not just the previous version. in one case i've had to go as low as magisk manager v7.3.0
you can download older released @ https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases

Your attached screenshot is showing "magisk is not installed" but you were saying previously that when you open manager it shows installed.
If I'm misunderstanding you somewhere then must use @x3non's suggestion of trying different version of manager.

Thanks again, guys.

I have tried four previous versions of Magisk including v7.3.0. I am able to patch stock boot image in all but I don't seem to get Magisk Manager properly installed.

Kindly see attached.
