Hi pls im planning to flash a patched boot img with magisk toTecno L9 plus cause its Android version 7.0 but the problem is that im also supposed to flash an empty vbmeta unto the device but when i load the scatter file, i dont see any partition for vbmeta so should i just forget about flashing the empty vbmeta file and just go ahead flashing the patched boot img?
And there's another phone called ueg freedom 5.5 and its the same issue so should i proceed with flashing the boot?
Thanks in advance

if our porting tool indicates that your device has dm_verity then you're to patch boot to disable dm_verity
if dm_verity is not found then nothing to worry about
the instructions are on the tool btw

Please i want to reflash only my system partition due to a bad su integration. So is it possible to just use the image provided in one of the system updates ive downloaded or i need to use the one that from the flash file cause the update size is only around 300mb while the the system img from the flash file size is 1.something gig.
Thanks

you need to use the 1.x gb system.img
mind you, it must be system.img from the same firmware build your device is currently running on

Okay but why does it have to be from the same firmware build cause when we deal with boot and recovery images we were allowed to use from other later firmware builds. About the system image, after i flash it will i wipe data or i can use my phone like that

boot and system go hand in hand, using boot from a different build from system is likely to fail during booting
flashing system from the same build, chances are you won't need to wipe data (no guarantees though esp if data partition is corrupt)

No, you'll brick your device again if you attempt to use twrp from kernel 4,4
