(28-07-2020, 10:56 AM)Mattjoe I remember when I was using Gionee P2 that only supports 3G on sim 1, but after flashing Primo F2 rom it solved that issue. So I was thinking flashing a different stock would fix that of the 4G.

both are different issues

(28-07-2020, 10:56 AM)Mattjoe And now I don't think this is a rom issue. I did downloaded another rom yesterday (making 3 roms now) and after flashing its still booting into recovery mode. I don't really get the problem why it keeps happening. Right now I just wish to get back to the way it was, so my phone can power on.

did you factory reset the phone after flashing the firmware?
use method 7 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16005.html to verify the build number of all the firmwares you've downloaded so far ; are they all the same build or different builds?

(28-07-2020, 10:56 AM)Mattjoe There's a thread I saw that talked about secure boot or so, does it apply to this Vivo Y33?

No, esp. seeing as you were able to flash without needing a custom DA

Yes, I did factory reset and wiped cache too. I used all the options via SP Flash Tool (Download, FORMAT all + Download and even Firmware Upgrade) but it still won't boot beyond recovery mode.

I was able to check the build of the phone through the recovery (photo attached).

What I am yet to do is check the build numbers of the 3 roms I have flashed in so far, just as you asked.

But I am sure this Vivo Y33 only has one variant. Though I noticed something new today. The recovery mode language is in English whereas it was in Chinese language before. I tried making backup Vai recovery from a phone I managed to lay my hands on today, but the phone recovery is in Chinese and I couldn't understand a thing.

if you have another y33 with same Chinese recovery as yours, then try making a firmware backup using miracle thunder @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html or wwr mtk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html and flash the backup to your own phone

Thanks so much for all your efforts in assisting me bring back my phone to life. I chatted up the Vivo company on Facebook through their site and they gave me the firmware required to bring the phone to life.

After downloading I noticed the system file is not in .img format but .dat (system.new) and I guessed it wasn't meant for SP Flash Tool, so I flashed it using the "Apply update from external sdcard" in recovery mode (screenshots attached).

Thanks once again.. So now I'll just need to search the group on how to write the IMEI back using SN Writer. It's been long I used the tool.
