I have seen some post using magisk to root KC2 but the process and some terms are unclear to me and I don't want to brick my phone. Can someone guide me step-by-step how to properly root my phone.

get the firmware for your phone's exact build phone either by backup ; use wwr_mtk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-36124.html along with DA @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23243.html OR download firmware for your build if available @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-30432.html ; you can download boot and recovery only

unlock bootloader @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19578.html
flash empty vbmeta @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html
patch boot and root using magisk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html

if patching boot doesn't give root, then you can try patching boot using magisk canary @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGLWoJ-POlA
OR patching recovery using magisk, same way you did for boot but to get root you'll need to boot to recovery as explained @ https://www.hovatek.com/blog/how-to-gain...rk-go-kc1/

Hi, thanks for your response.
My phone built is: KC2-H6113AI-P-200707V276
and i found a stock rom of: KC2-H6113AI-P-190925V186.
Is this rom compatible? Also when I tried to unlock my bootloader, adb devices lists my devices but when opening fastboot and running fastboot devices, it returns empty and the commands
Code:

fastboot oem device-info
Code:

fastboot getvar unlocked
keep running and don't return value (SS Attached). What should I do further?
P.S does rooting with this method cause data loss?

Can you please give a link for the backup process using wwr-mtk (above you have linked this page), also I searched my model's (Tecno Spark 4 KC2) DA in the 2nd link (https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23243.html) but it is not there, will that be a problem?

wwr mtk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html
for DA, you can try either KC8 or KD8 da from the list @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-23243.html and post the result

I have successfully done a full ROM backup of my phone (TECNO KC8 DA file worked with KC2) and the size is about 29 GB. Attached is my file list. Can you verify that I have all the important components for a full backup in case my phone gets bricked. Then I will proceed with rooting my phone.
Also while following the vbmeta flashing tutorial, how do I find out if an empty vbmeta is required or a signed one for my device.

you have full dump, but having backup usually doesn't mean you can use it to fix a brick
you can try flashing back only stock boot.img from your backup using sp flash tool and the DA file that worked for you, if this goes successfully then you should be able to fix a soft brick from a root attempt using the backup you made
