I have tried MTK droid it connects with my phone but it says my phone needs to be rooted (which it already is with Kingoroot). I tried pressing the root button on MTK droid, but this does not seem to work. Do I need to unroot my phone first then root it again with MTK droid

ADB identified my device and I was able to enter the imei s and ADB went through the motions of loading them with no error message
guess you'll have to look for a hardware dongle / box tool e.g cm2, nck box, e.t.c to attempt writing imei
OR you look for a working phone (the same model as yours) to backup nvram from then write the nvram backup to your device
links for these are still listed @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-116.html
