Hi,

I am using Galaxy J2 Prime (model G532G) running Android 6 marshmallow.

I connect the phone to my computer by ADB, then push 2 files parted and mkfs.ext4 into /sbin. I want to resize the /userdata partition

While using parted to remove partition /userdata, the partition /userdata has not been deleted and a message appear:

"Error: Partition(s) 29 on /dev/block/mmcblk0 have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes."

Please see the attached picture and help me to remove this partion.

Thanks in advanced.

(P/S: I doing under instruction from thread https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32750.html)

did you un-mount userdata in TWRP > mounts & storage?
there should be a check box for userdata amongst other partitions

if that doesn't fix it, you could try other versions of parted tool ; download @ http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/parted/
