(27-04-2021, 07:39 AM)nidhin Well, I took a look at the scatter file and found partitions with operation_type protected.
Are those partitions causing the issue.
Should I not format it?
Attaching the scatter file...

unlikely to be the cause

(27-04-2021, 07:41 AM)nidhin Can I manual format all the partitions in a single operation to delete the partition table (starting of the scatter file to the end of its length).

feel free to try and let us know the outcome
the operation should look like this
start addr 0x0
length : the full length of emmc_user (see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-22701.html )

(27-04-2021, 07:41 AM)nidhin Will all they be flashed back if I flash the stock firmware, as I can see only a few of them in the SP Tools download page and many of them in the scatter file.

this is because the stock firmware only contains files needed to at least boot to homescreen
all the hidden partitions contain different type of info, it is assumed that you made a full firmware dump incase you need it later
to test if they'll be flashed back, then make a full firmware dump then attempt to flash back the firmware dump and see what happens
now sure how to make the dump? see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html

(27-04-2021, 07:41 AM)nidhin Most the the partitions also have is_download : false. Is that an issue?

if you need to flash them then change the value to true
partitions with is_download : false don't have files included in the stock firmware

I followed the instructions in the link you provided for mtk bypass and formatted the whole flash except bootloader by UART COM PORT.
Now I am unable to flash the whole firmware back as it tells the IMG is too large for gnres.img . I can get to the recovery menu and also see charging screen but not flash custom recovery as it gives buffer error.
I can't also use USB preloader to flash files as it also gives error.
Only the uart through python works now (with mediatek usb port as driver and not preloader) as mentioned in the link.
I am attaching the screenshot of errors below
I am also stuck in boot at the logo. The gnres.img only has third party apps, nothing with boot, so I don't know if it is causing the issue.
Everything else is perfectly flashed.
What did I miss

I already tried it that doesn't work.

Is there an alternate way.
Would the bootloader have been locked now?
How can I enter fastboot without adb in my phone?

you could not boot into recovery mode or you could but the device won't boot after doing a successful factory reset?

I can reboot to recovery and factory reset many times. All is ok. But I can't get past the logo when booting up. Maybe it is because I didn't flash the gnres.img. But I am unable to do it since it gives img too large error

reflash the stock firmware of the device again, test both firmware upgrade and format all + download in spft
