HTC Vodafone hard reset needed to remove security pattern

Am finding I difficult to hard reset HTC Vodafone android phone with key combination. I can't see he phone model but I'll describe the phone. It has home button, menu button, back button, search button, analog scroll button, send button and power button .

The pattern attempts has been exceeded and it now demand to unlock with Google account. Will the adb wipe it?

a factory reset should fix it
enter enough wrong gmail account / password trials then select the reset option once exceeded. you could as well do a factory reset in recovery mode

Adb didn't detect the phone maybe cause the USB debugg is not enable. I have enter wrong goggle credentials upto 30 times yet it hasn't bring out reset option and lastly I can't factory reset it when I hold volume down and power button cause it still bring out fastboot.

you can format data partition using fastboot

Am getting error...
'nstalling ADB and fastboot.. . <system-wide>
0 file<s> copied

It should be 4 files(s) copied as shown in the picture. And secondly there's no instructions how to format data partition using fastboot.
