You're contradicting the actions of the Windows CD. tapping F8 is attempting to use advanced recovery menu (safe mode etc) . You're supposed to insert the CD and wait for a message saying press any key to boot from CD. if you dont get that then change your boot sequence from BIOS (keep tapping F10 on boot) and set CD/DVD drive to position 1 . Another alternative is to use a function key to select boot order by continuously tapping it on boot with CD inside. usually f6-f12 . try each

Will I receive the message while the screen is black with a blinking white cursor?

you should. if you don't after a minute then you'll have to change boot order in BIOS ; make CD / DVD number 1

looks like u'v gat an issue with your hard disc, remove the hard disc and connect it as external hard drive to another system, try to access it and lets have the feedback.
