Sim slot issue

Hi pls My name is Aliyu and am using an infinix zero fone but jst recently my sim one slot stops working. It doesnt recognise any sim i insert. Plss i need ur urgent help. Also i tried updating my fones software and when it got to 99% it hanged and didnt complete d download now it wont update

1. what error do you get when trying to update
2. check if both SIM 1 & 2 have IMEI by dialling *#06#

1) the update just stoped and anytym i try to continue it says *you have a downloading task*
2) i did check fr the imei numbers using the code u gave me and both imei number fo both sims appear......

the update will likely brick your phone so you might want to stay away from it. if you insist, go to settings > apps > all > download manager . force stop it then clear data and cache.
for the SIM slot issue, did it happen before the update attempt? and do you recall doing anything on the phone shortly before it began?

1) on the update thanks tiink i wil stay away frm it
2) it only startd afta one day my alert went off and d fone hanged.i cudnt stop d alarm or switch off d fone even afta pressing down d power button. So i tried opening d sim slots and taken d sims out den putting dem bak it. And afta i did dat,dat ws wen d problem started.

go to Settings > About > Baseband
is yours J608 or J609?

1. is your phone rooted? if it is, backup the phone using https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-468.html and let me know when thats done

1) hw do i know if ma fone is rooted or not...what does dat even means please?? And when i back up to that hope i wont loose anytin frm ma fone cos i hav sum applications i can loose
