ok.
1. how exactly did you attempt to flash cwm recovery (details please) ?
2. whats the present condition of the phone? is it totally dead as in no sign of life? or just stuck at logo?
this will tell us the best approach to use

Via SP Flash Tool
I downloaded it and tried flashing it via that, I mistakenly selected firmware upgrade. After read back, the device wouldn't come up tho flash tool still detects it when trying to download.

the steps you took were quite off track
you need the H3 MTK backup
granted! download @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-311.html and flash using Sp flash tool @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-159.html
next, download the Tecno H3 patch
let me know when done with flashing the MTK backup and downlaoding the patch so you proceed with the next steps

i assume you've download the patch
in the patch folder, flash the recovery.img in the ctr_recovery_h3 folder to your phone using SP flash tool
let me know if the phone is now able to boot into carliv touch recovery mode
