Hello all,

I have a rooted Micromax A58 which was perfectly working. I did a full nandroid backup of it 2 days ago. On yesterday, I was moving some system app (google maps, play store etc) to SD with some software) so that I could increase the internal memory and install some other softwares. But, unfortunately, after that modification, the phone stopped working properly (it was stucking up when the BOLT logo was reached). So, I started it in recovery and do a wipe cache and factory reset. After that, the phone is always going to Factory Mode.

Then I tried to Flash the Stock ROM using Flash Tool but was unsuccessful multiple times. After the scatter file selected, when I clicked the 'Download' (or even firmware upgrade), all time time, the phone was disconnecting/reconnecting every now and then and nothing happened after (even though I already installed the Vcom and PdaNet driver in the PC). So, I had to quit. I am attaching herewith the logs of the Flash Tool lastly tried.

Now, when I am starting the phone power button, nothing is happening.. NOTHING but black screen...

I am now worried.. your helps are very much appreciated. Please let me know for any information needed. Thanks.

I tried another time and the problem still there.. When in SP Flash Tool, I select scatter file, click 'Download' and connect the phone to PC, the process doesn't progress further. So, I have to finally click 'Stop' to quit. In the logs, it shows--

Since you had a Nandroid backup, you should've just flashed clockworkmod recovery to the phone (using http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-455.html ) then restored the Nandroid backup in clockworkmod recovery mode. Now that the phone is totally dead , here's the guide you need to fix your phone @ http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-286.html but you'll need the corresponding files for your phone model.
I must ask you two questions:
1. Are you certain that the stock ROM you have is for your exact model?
2. Could you list all the files you have in the stock ROM?

From the log above, you'll notice the dominance of No COM Port detected. Which means your PC and phone arent communicating OK.

Hovatek,

Thanks a lot for the response. Actually, I did realize later that I should restored the nandroid back up. But my purpose behind the Flashing was to get a clean image of the actual STOCK ROM so that I could rearrange the data afresh (as the nandroid was a bit cluttered with some junk data). Anyway, the list of Micromax A58 STOCK ROM details(which downloaded from some Internet site)--

Build Number Micromax A58_T09

I also noted that the PC and the phone doesn't communicate as 'No COM Port detected' evident from the logs. But, I did install the the following--

1) All the drivers found in the Micromax A58 drivers (e.g.- Android Bootloader Interface, Android Composite ADB Interface, Android ADB interface)
2) the 'MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port (Port6) from the 'MediaTek USB VCOM drivers'
3) Also installed PdaNet drivers

Even after that, the PC and mobile couldn't identify each other.

Sometime when I was connecting the phone to PC, it was updating some 'Alcatel Single RNDIS interface bit was not working properly, just FYI..

Will go through the link http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-286.html you mentioned and revert back. Please let me know if you have any further advice. Thanks.

As per your advice, went through the list of SP Flash tool error. Following the below link--

https://hovatek.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=440

I have already downloaded the suggested drivers and installed (please find snapshots attached herewith). But, still the problem there. Neither the device could be recognized nor any progress in the SP Flash activity upon clicking on 'download' and connect the phone.

Also tried different USB port/cable and separate PC.. issue still exists.

Also tried to install PdaNet installer, but as the phone is not getting recognized, so the installation may not be working as expected and resolving the issue.

Please advice further. Thanks.

Alright. I need you to observe device manager when you connect the phone to PC without battery inside. observe whether or not it blinks (device manager)

I just tested thoroughly and below is the submission with snapshots (pls co-relate)--

1) When I insert the USB cord in the USB port of PC, the Device Manager blinks (refreshed) and the 'Alcatel Single RNDIS Interface #2' listed in the network adapters in Device Manager (without any exclamation sign) as shown in 'DevMgr_1.png'.
2) Just within 4-5 seconds (instantly), Device Manager again blinks (refreshed) and come to the stage as shown in 'DevMgr_2.png' attached. Alcatel adapter is now having Exclamation sign.
3) The point 1 and point 2 told above go into an endless loop until I remove the phone USB cord from the computer
4) When phone is not attached to computer, the device manager looks like 'When_phone_not_plugged_in.png' attached.

Please go through the snapshots and advice further. Thanks.

I would've suspected a loose contact between the USB cord and the phone jack but something below caught my attention. Did you noticed that under Port, all Mediatek / MTK ports have exclamation / error sign with or without the phone connected? This is possibly where the No Com Port detected issue is coming from. Right-click on each one then uninstall. After Uninstalling, restart the PC. Back in device manager, Click Action at the top then scan for Hardware changes. You can then manually Install Vcom drivers using http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html . forget PdaNet. You would need a working phone of the same model to install MT drivers using PdaNet and that you don't have
