1. is it an original or a clone?
2. have you tried downloading and flashing the firmware?

Hi. The phone was originally from UK and was locked to network and so it had been rooted and by sunday last week it lost the network. Am from Kenya (East Africa). So the above issue came about after playing around with the kernel and modem files when trying to reapir the not registered to network issue. Also The phone is AN ORIGINAL SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 GT-I9300.Also I dont know which firmware to download because there are many firmwares for UK.Thanks.

But the phone does not ask for network lock code. Infact the problem is that its detecting the simcard but I cant call or send sms. Whenever i type a number press the call button, it says "Not registered on Network"

Go to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > network operators > search and select your network operator

Go to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > set network mode to WCDMA preferred

Hi. after playing around with the phone I came to discover this problem was due to change of IMEI. If I press *#06# its displaying a fake IMEI (004999010640000) which is different from the one at the back of the phone. Is there a way to recover the original IMEI if the EFS was not backed up before installing custom rom.

Thanks.
