boot into factory mode (volume down + power button) then retry. Also, ensure to install PdaNet as the guide instructed so as to install necessary drivers else MTK droid tools still won't detect the phone
question: Can you get access to a working phone of the same model?

Its only booting into recovery. May look for a working tablet to get all the backup to flash with the spflashtool. But the tablet is still a little scarce
I have the drivers installed. Its reading a tecno d9 phone here and a tecno n9 tablet here.

is it Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that goes off immediately or it's your phone that goes off?

You mean the PC can detect your N9 and D9 phones in MTK droid tools?

Since it can't boot into factory mode, SP flash tool is your best option. Here's how to make an MTK backup of a Tecno phone @ http://forum.hovatek.com/showthread.php?tid=468 and
here's a guide on how to use SP flash tool @ http://forum.hovatek.com/showthread.php?tid=159 . Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Do you have access to a working F5 and have you made an MTK droid tools backup?
