[ Please Help ] Blu Advance 4.0 L

Hello all. I'm having some serious problems with my phone and would appreciate any help you guys can offer to assist me in fixing it.

Setup-
Phone: Blu advance 4.0 L (A010U)
Computer : Windows 10
Flash tool : SPFT v.5.1532.00
Phone rom : BLU_A270a_V07_GENERIC_2014_05_01_20_28

Backstory -

I've had this phone for about two months now and its never given me any problems besides the occasional app crashing here and there. Yesterday the phone was working perfectly fine when I used it earlier in the day and when I was done using it I let it enter sleep mode for about an hour while it charged through my laptop. When I went to use it again I was unable to get it to exit sleep mode and no buttons would register. I eventually took the battery out and when I placed it back in, the phone refused to load past the boot screen. After a few hard reboots I actually got past the boot screen once but the phone still did not work properly and kept repeating an error message. Seeing as how I had to clue how to fix this, I gave up and took off to the internet and.....

What I've done so far -

1. Found this youtube { https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZU0oMhB-H0 }  and decided to give it a try while using the secondary guide as a reference point [ http://www.blogtechtips.com/2015/03/30/h...martphone/ ]

1b. Before I started the process I noticed my phone wouldn't turn on anymore and I attributed that to the battery dying. I couldn't get it to charge from my laptop and had to use the wall charger. It was able to charge to 77% and since starting on this journey it won't charge at all now.

2. Although I've connect my phone to my laptob many times in the past, when I tried to do it while the phone was broken it was as he said in the video , my phone would detect then undetect multiple times and I would need to install specific drivers to fix it. Sadly I ran into a problem when I tried to install the mtk drivers. I would keep getting this error msg "the third-party INF does no contain digital signature information" , but there was no option to bypass it as he said there would be. While trying to figure out what i was doing wrong I navigated to [ C:\Users\----\Downloads\All MTK USB Driver 2014\All MTK USB Driver 2014\All MTK Drivers\SmartPhoneDriver\x86 ] and when I clicked next the driver quickly installed and I thought I had fixed the problem.

3. From that point I followed the rest of the guide and when I went to use the flash tool I received an error message (I've already forgotten what it was) . I decided to go back and check what might be wrong and I figured it must have been the phone rom which I had obtained from a different website beforehand ( it was version 6 apparently) . After obtaining a newer version from the website that I was using as a guide I tried again and ran into " sp flash tool Error 4032 Message: BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032) [EMI] " which after googling is how I ended up here.

4. As suggested here " https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-927.html " I've tried flashing with and without battery. Tried holding various buttons. Tried uninstalling vcom, mediatek and preloader drivers then manually install using https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-440.html . NOTHING WORKED!

4b. This could be the reason why it doesn't work but I'm not sure! I've noticed the phone always registers as a usb serial device and doesn't seem to want to use the mediatek driver nor do I know how to make use of it . When i uninstall the " usb serial device " using usbdeview and plug my phone back in, it automatically installs the same driver and will go from like com10 to com 11 and so on, and I can't update it either.

At this point I'm clueless as to what I need to do now and just want my phone back. I don't want to go out and buy a new one and the company told me if I ship it back to them if they would only replace it if it was found to be broken by non physical circumstances and even then I would be out a phone for 2 weeks or more. I could try winning a phone off ebay and switching out the sim cards but that could easily take just about as much time. If you guys could help me I would be eternally grateful. Thanks for taking the time to read, peace!

PS: if there's anything I left out or additional info you may require let me know. I'm going to be on here tough till I get a response.

This doesn't sound like much of a problem. Since you get error 4032 , it means sp flash tool is able to detect your phone, and that's a good thing.
It seems the ROM you're trying to flash isn't compatible with your phone model (refer to https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-439.html) .
We have a collection of BLU firmware @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-9728.html
You might want to check if your model is listed.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm glad to hear that it isn't the specific phone driver and as long as my phone is detected I'm in good shape.

As for the specific rom version for my phone..... this is a confusing state of affairs. As far as I can tell, the two roms that I've downloaded and tried so far were indicated to be for my specific phone, with the only difference being one was an older version.

I followed the link you suggested to find my specific rom and it led me here " http://support.moulnisky.com/index.php?d...4.0/D270A/ " but the download link " http://clicknupload.com/plqhq0e013am " is apparently down right now.

I googled the name of the rom which led me here " http://www.needrom.com/download/blu-advance-4-0-a270a/ " and that one produced the same results.

Found another here indicated as Stock backup of Blu advance 4.0 A270a " https://plus.google.com/1156031163944488...FoeLeKo1CM " and still nothing.

So that's 4 different backup's/roms all producing the same 4032 error and I don't really know what is wrong.

Only other info I can submit is that my phone is dead/bricked at this point.

I'm happy to report that as of right now... MY PHONE IS FIXED!!!!

As you suspected hova the roms I used were for a different version of my phone. I feel like an idiot for not thinking that played a part and appreciate the time you took in pointing me in the right direction.

For the most part the phone seems fine although i did notice some unusual lag and now i have to fix the imei. If there is anything else I should know please do tell.

Lastly my next goal is to update to a custom rom or stock 5.0 lolipop/6.0 marshmallow . I'm wary to do anything right now seeing as how my phone just broke on its on and then got bricked by me but if nothing goes wrong for a week I think I will give it a try. Sadly this phone is pretty obscure so I think i might be stuck at 4.4 forever.

For anyone in my position, best advice i can give is google everything!!!

Hi TallGeese3,

I have the same problem with my Advance 4.0L. The A270a is not the correct ROM version for the BLU 4.0 "L" model. I believe the A010u ROM version is needed. Could you please post where I could obtain the ROM file (the file that fixed your phone)? Thanks in advance!

The reason I ended with this sentence was for a meaningful purpose. I honestly don't like giving out answers/solutions to problems because I've always maintained an attitude of ," If I can figure it out why can't you". I truly believe that figuring things out on your own builds true intelligence and I love nothing more then fixing a problem myself, so I find it completely deplorable to deny that same satisfaction from anyone else.
With that being said, because I clearly remember how frustrating it was to be without my phone and how being without it was detrimental to my lifestyle, I would rather compromise my ethic view on this issue rather then letting someone else be subjected to the same stress/hassle I went through.

I honestly don't recall the exact place where I got my stock rom from but you can try here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/i8gfs1...ec.net.zip

or here:

Just to clarify in case anyone else runs into this, although there's barely any difference between the two advance phones (The L is more recent by 2 years and somehow crappier), their model numbers are different and as such, you need the specific rom for your respective phone.

Blu advance 4.0 = A70
Blu advance 4.0 L = A101

Lastly I used kingaroot to root my phone since no other program work, and I fixed my imei using mobileuncle engineer mode method.
